Please be aware of the following policies before booking a session: **Note: By scheduling an appointment or purchasing gift certificates, you are agreeing to these policies.**
Cancellation/Rescheduling: A valid credit card is required to hold appointments on the calendar, and a minimum of 24-hour notice is required for all cancellations. For changes to the appointment, or cancellations within the 24-hour window, there will be a 50% forfeiture fee. Missed appointments, or cancellations within 2 hours of a set appointment time will result in being charged in full. Arriving on time (or even a little early!) will ensure that you receive the full duration of time scheduled. We will do our best to make up for missed time due to tardiness, as long as our time is respected and available. We would appreciate a text/call if you are able to let us know of an estimated time of arrival.
Payment and Gratuity: Payment is accepted via cash (preferred), and credit card for your convenience (which may include a small fee). You may choose to pre-pay for your session, or take care of payment at the time of service. A credit card number will be required to hold appointments on the calendar, but will not be charged unless the cancellation/rescheduling policy is broken. Gratuity is accepted with much appreciation, but is never expected or required.
Appropriate Conduct: Please do not come to your appointment under the influence of alcohol or drugs (including those prescribed by a doctor which alter perceptive ability, especially pain) within at least the most recent 4 hours. Sexual behavior, even to a minor degree will not be tolerated. The session will end immediately, and the client will be expected to pay in full for the entire duration of scheduled appointment.
Refunds: All sales are final and non-refundable, however prepaid sessions can be gifted to friends or family and will expire after one year. *Please note* Expired vouchers will be accepted as payments toward the full price of the session they were purchased for, and those making appointments with expired vouchers will owe the remaining balance at the time of service. Vouchers are non-transferable, meaning they are good only for the service stated on the voucher & cannot be used for a different service.
Consent to Care and Liability Release: Please understand that massage and subtle bodywork is not intended to cure, diagnose, or treat any medical conditions, and should not replace treatment or consultation with a qualified physician or therapist.
On rare occasions, clients may have unpleasant reactions to physical and non-physical bodywork modalities, including Thai massage and Subtle Body Attunement. The symptoms may include headache, dizziness, muscle soreness, slight bruising, allergic reaction to herbal products, among others. If hot herbs are being used, there is the chance of slight burning. You are in complete control of the session, and if you feel any of these symptoms at any time, please inform your therapist so that he/she can correct the situation or discontinue the session. By making an appointment, you consent to receive Therapeutic Touch (i.e. touching of hands, arms, head, feet, abdomen), massage, and/or subtle bodywork, and agree not to hold your therapist liable for any adverse effects of any treatments given to you. For your safety, please be sure to fill out the client intake form accurately.
Massage is an intimate art form which requires the close contact of client and practitioner. Thai massage, and Thai techniques incorporated into other massage modalities may involve more client therapist contact than many people have experienced in prior massage sessions. Your privacy is respected completely, and you remain in complete control of the massage at all times. If you feel uncomfortable at any time, for any reason, please inform your therapist immediately, so he/she may take direct action to remedy the situation or discontinue the massage, whichever you prefer.
Please understand that your practitioner is not a licensed medical healthcare provider, but may be a licensed massage therapist or Energy Medicine Practitioner. Massage therapy is not a substitute for medical care, medical examination, or diagnosis. Your massage will be conducted with the utmost confidentiality. Your personal information delivered during massage or intake will not be shared with anyone for any reason without your explicit consent (i.e. in the case of medical records release).
