One of the most effective components of Traditional Thai Healing Arts involves herbal medicines (traditionally internal therapies), and in the case of supporting physical therapies (like massage), we apply hot herbal compresses.
These steamed muslin cloths are full of dried herbs like ginger, turmeric, lemongrass, and many others that support our work with properties like tissue softening and moving in fresh blood to areas with low blood circulation. The heat and steam also help to soften tension in the tissue layer making physical manipulation easier and more effective. Shanti uses these authentic Thai herbal compresses in each session to assist in making space for movement. These can be a home remedy for chronic pain and tension. They can be steamed up to a maximum of 12-15 hours & are best stored at room temperature, exposed to open air. We ask an exchange of $15 for each herb ball. |
